Jaime L. Duguay focuses her practice on representing both employees and employers/management in all types of employment discrimination actions, including race, gender, age, pregnancy, and disability discrimination, sexual harassment, and whistleblower retaliation claims. Jaime also represents clients in wage and hour matters and deals with contract negotiations, non-compete and non-solicitation agreement negotiations and disputes, and employment separation negotiations. Jaime also assists employers in drafting and revising employee handbooks and provides equal employment opportunity, sexual harassment, and wage and hour training to employers and management.
Jaime’s 10 year legal practice experience has been entirely focused on employment law matters. Throughout her career, Jaime has represented both employers and employees. Prior to joining Molden & Associates, Jaime owned her own firm, Duguay Law, LLC, also reapreenting both employers and employees. Prior to that, Jaime was an Associate Attorney at the Buckley Law Firm (formerly Buckley & Klein), exclusively representing employees in employment discrimination cases and all areas of employment litigation and employment law matters. Before joining BLF, Jaime was an Associate Attorney at Elarbee, Thompson, Sapp & Wilson, exclusively representing and advising employers and management in employment litigation and law matters. Jaime began her career in New York City as an Associate Attorney at Berke-Weiss & Pechman, LLP, a firm representing both employees and management in employment matters. At BWP, Jaime successfully litigated a 300 plaintiff wage and hour and retaliation matter, obtaining a multi-million dollar settlement for her clients.
Jaime is a cum laude graduate of New York Law School. In law school, Jaime was a recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship, and served as the Vice President and Attorney General of the Student Bar Association Jaime was a member of NYLS’s Moot Court Association, and competed nationally in the areas of constitutional and employment law. Jaime was a Research Assistant to Nadine Strossen, past President of the American Civil Liberties Union. Jaime also served as an intern in the New York State Attorney General’s Litigation Bureau and was an active member of the Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity.
Jaime is a 2002 graduate of Emory University, where she obtained a B.A. in History and Political Science and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, was a Rho Chi, and served on the Inter-Sorority Council Executive Board. She also re-colonized and served as the President of Rho Lambda, the Greek Women Honors Fraternity.
Jaime is actively engaged in volunteer work, both in legal organizations and in her community. Jaime is a member of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyer’s 2014 Leadership Academy class and serves on the Board of GAWL and is a Co-Chair of GAWL’s Leadership Committee. Jaime is also a Board member of both the Atlanta Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Section and Women in the Profession Section.
Jaime is rated one of the top employment litigation attorneys in Atlanta, and was named a 2016 Rising Star by Super Lawyers.
